Whats up Gymmers !

It's been great welcoming so many new people to the membership the past few days from our big Black Friday - Cyber promotion.

If you're not interested in our membership or simply not ready yet, no problem.

I got tons of free resources to help you.

First, make sure to check out our YouTube channel if you have not yet done so.

If you have not done our either our Mini- Balance camp yet or our TWO WEEK CHALLENGE, those are both great places to start.

If you have already signed up for either of those, click here to login to your program and private exercise portal

Today’s MOVEMENT MINUTE focuses on STRETCHING YOUR TFL.

Tightness in the TFL is SUPER SUPER common for MS GYMMERS because MS often forces you to SIT MORE throughout your day.

When you sit for extended periods of time, the muscle on the FRONT OF YOUR LATERAL HIP (where your pants pockets are) gets OVER-TIGHT and your Gluteal muscles get super stretched and weak.

Searching for a Decade

Good morning Gymmers !

Today I have a great Movement Minute for you that will help reduce spasticity, stiffness, and pain in your neck.

I also have a really cool testimonial I saw yesterday when I was in our MOC ( Members Only Corner ).

Today’s MOVEMENT MINUTE will show you how RELEASE YOUR CERVICAL EXTENSORS.

This drill is SUPER EFFECTIVE to reduce spasticity, stiffness, and pain in your neck.

Improving cervical spine mobility can improve balance, vestibular function, and prevent falling.

As you poke around with your fingers, search for tender spots and when you find them, SLOWLY and GENTLY oscillate around that area.

Take a look at the image below and notice how the muscles in your neck are connected to muscles all the way down your back.

This release drill will allow you to:

  • INCREASE NECK MOBILITY
  • IMPROVE STRENGTH
  • INCREASE BALANCE
  • RELEASE SPASTICITY AND STIFFNESS IN YOUR LOW BACK AND HIPS

As you do this drill FOCUS ON:

  • Slow and...

Upper Body Mobility

Whats UP Gymmers!

It's already Wednesday and we're half way through another week.

I can't believe the holiday season is almost here and 2021 will be coming to a close soon.

Maybe it's just me but the older I get the more it seems the years fly by.

Whether it's the years flying by or me hitting 40 years old and having my own host of health issues, I have become even more obsessed with my own MOVEMENT and NUTRITION. (Things I do Have control over)

I hope you're on board with me and committed to your own healing.

If so, let's dive into Today’s MOVEMENT MINUTE, which  focuses on RELEASING YOUR PECTORALIS MINOR. (Pec Minor)

This muscle gets SUPER tight when we sit more, slump in our chair, attempt to use our upper body to walk, or haven’t been re-trained how to breathe properly.

When we repeatedly release your tight pecs, it will also help to:

  • Reduce spasticity in your upper body
  • Improve shoulder mobility
  • Increase upper body strength

Knee Circles

October 27th, 2021

One of the reasons I am sitting here writing this email today is because of our supporters.

Without support and people getting tremendous value out of the MS GYM, there is no MS GYM.

Fortunately so many of you advocate and share the MS GYM with your neurologists, friends, family and anyone who will listen.

Check out this post I saw yesterday in one of our Fb groups:

We have thousands of people like Jani who just want to help others because they have had a good experience with us.

It's no different then wanting to tell others when you see a good movie or show.

Word of mouth has been one of the biggest reasons for our growth and it's WHY we are the largest MS specific online platform.

However, as I mentioned yesterday, we still have many skeptics and even haters.

Here was one of the comments on Jani's post:

Suzie nailed it, 'it often falls on deaf ears'.

Now as I said in my email yesterday The MS GYM won't be a fit for everyone.

But when people make up their...

Worst Coached Exercise in the World !

bootietime hip bridge Oct 20, 2021

October 20,2021

It's Wednesday and a brisk 38 degrees here in the Denver area.

Today is BOOTIE BUILDING TIME !

In today’s Movement Minute, you will be learning one of THE most powerful gluteal, postural, and hip strengthening exercises around…

However, it’s also one of the WORST COACHED exercises in the world.

The exercise is called the HIP BRIDGE.

The focus of the Hip Bridge is to improve HIP EXTENSION which you need for:

-  Standing up from a chair or bed

- Getting in and out of a car

- Exercising

- Forward fall prevention

- Propulsion forward as you walk

So… being able to do a good hip extension is a BIG DEAL!

Now, as you HIP BRIDGE today, I want you to focus on the following movement cues:

- DO NOT ARCH YOUR LOW BACK

- MOVE FROM YOUR HIPS

- THINK ABOUT A STRING ATTACHED TO YOUR BELT PULLING YOU UP

- GENTLY PULL YOUR ABS IN TOWARD YOUR SPINE

Understand?

Read for your Bootie Boogie Party?

Good, let’s move.

Whats Up Gymmers !

It's Monday and I'm getting geared up for my morning workout.

My workout is what gets me going, especially on a Monday morning when I need it most.

But workouts are not enough when it comes to committing to healing.

As you know, I am an MS MOVEMENT SPECIALIST.

Teaching people with neuro-degenerative conditions is my PASSION and all I have done over my 20+ year career.

However, what I have witnessed is that my most SUCCESSFUL GYMMERS not only commit to exercising DAILY; they also commit to DESIGNING a healing lifestyle to support their movement practice.

Now, I know that the concept of adopting a new lifestyle can seem a bit overwhelming and rightly so.

That is why you must BREAK IT DOWN INTO DOABLE PIECES.

Transformation is a process. Your brain will completely freak out if you try to change too many things in your life too quickly.

Healing your brain and body is the PRACTICE of tiny habits strung together over time to create...

Happy Stretching !

quad Oct 15, 2021

Whats Up Gymmers !

Yesterday I spoke about the concept of 'movement snacks'.

As we head into the weekend I want to give you another movement minute you can snack on this weekend.

Today’s MOVEMENT MINUTE focuses on STRETCHING YOUR QUADS.

Tightness in the quads is SUPER SUPER common for MS GYMMERS because MS often forces you to SIT MORE throughout your day.

When you sit for extended periods of time, the UPPER PART of your quads near your pelvis gets OVER-TIGHT and your Gluteal muscles get super stretched and weak.

This will GREATLY impact your ability to stand, balance, and walk well.

Therefore, it is very very important that your stretch your quads throughout your day so you can maintain good pelvis and hips muscle balance.

As you do this stretch, FOCUS ON:

-  Sitting as tall as possible

-  Gently pulling abs in

- Tip your pelvis back as your stretch

-  Breathe slow and think about that muscle relaxing

 Happy Stretching!

Whats up Gymmers !

I have a big fat smile on my face reading all the comments about John Dunham.

John is very willing to share his story publicly so in addition to yesterdays email, my team posted it all over the social media platforms we use.

And while I sip my second cup of coffee this morning I'm reading every comment.

If you missed yesterday's email about John's journey form quadriplegic to walking unassisted, you Can read it here

Today we are going to focus on MOTOR FUNCTION of your HANDS.

Now, some of you may be wondering why you should work your hands.

Some of you may be saying YES, my hands don’t work so well so teach me coach!

Neurologically speaking, your hands are SUPER FULL of nerve endings so practicing moving them well can improve sensory and motor function in those areas.

With this, inside your brain, the areas that activate your visual system (eyes) are RIGHT NEXT to the areas that activate your hands.

 SO… by improving hand...

Whats Up Gymmers,

I am happy to report my youngest daughter is doing much better and returned to pre school today.

And I finally had a full night sleep last night.

So I am ready to rock n roll today.

Over the past few months, I have really been thinking about the concept of “re-building.”

I recently demolished my basement down to the framing in and am now currently REBUILD it into a second filming studio, my office, and the official movement lab of The MS Gym.

My girls know that downstairs is now DADDY’S GYM and if the door is closed, I am deep in thought, creation, or training.

They know that downstairs is where I create new programs, videos, and, in their words, “teach school” for our MS Gymmers.

Throughout all the remodeling, it has repeatedly struck me that because COVID-19 TOOK away my freedom, routine, and way of life, it forced me to seek solutions and DEVELOP AN ALTERNATIVE DESIGN for my life and practice.

It forced me to CREATE and...

Whats up gymmers !

It's a brisk 50 degrees this morning here in the Denver area.

Every so often we all need a good rant.

Yesterday I was annoyed because we have been running some ads on Facebook for our new Mini-Balance camp.

And while it's going great and lots of people are signing up, there are some people who have been so burned by all the BS they see on social media that they won't even exchange their email to try this free program.

I saw tons of comments on our ad thread where people were so skeptical they immediately thought it was a scam like so much of the stuff you see on the internet.

It had a t least ten comments similar to this:

After spending a few minutes commenting on the comments in the thread telling them it's not a scam I was drained.

So I needed to vent and I started sending some texts to my biz partner Ken.

Here is a screenshot form part of our text thread:

I ended up on a quick call with Ken and he reminded me of a couple of things.

1) The right people have...
