Workshop #1

 

SIT TO STAND WORKSHOP:

 

Date: Wednesday 6/28

Time: 12 - 2 pm EST

 

MOBILITY LEVEL: Gymmers who are chair-dependent and seated most of the day.

MOBILITY LEVEL: 

  • You attempt to stand and move with an assisted device, but it feels very difficult or strained. 
  • You are essentially restricted to a chair to work, exercise, and perform activities of daily living
  • You experience consistent neurologic symptoms

DESCRIPTION OF WORKSHOP:

If your goal or desire is to stand up and do more daily activities on your feet instead of spending most of your day in a chair, this workshop is for you!

Being able to stand is an extremely important movement skill that:

  • Increases full body strength
  • Reduces pain and stiffness
  • Improves spinal health
  • Restores balance
  • Reduces spasticity
  • Boosts energy

The goal of this workshop is to educate you and show you how to train your brain to work towards standing up for longer and moving well with assistance of a wheelie walker (rollator).

This will unlock a whole new level of exercises and daily activities you can do with more freedom and confidence.  

During this INTERACTIVE workshop (you will be moving 😊😊), we will learn, practice, and go home with short and simple KEY movement drills done in your chair and on your feet designed to improve standing endurance, increase walking balance, and reduce fatigue.

 We will be working on: 

  • Eye, balance, and breathing drills that SPECIFICALLY target standing up
  • Improving individual muscles needed for a STRONG CORE
  • Increasing strength and flexibility in your HIPS & LEGS
  • Practicing MOVEMENT DRILLS specific to standing better

You will leave this workshop feeling educated, well coached, and equipped to start using what you learn in your life immediately.

Workshop #2

 

MASTERING EXERCISE WITH ASSISTANCE

Dates and Times:

Session 1: Wednesday 6/28, 3 - 5 pm EST

Session 2: Friday 7/7,  12 pm - 2 pm EST

**This is a TWO DAY/ TWO PART Worshop (4 Hours Total) 

MOBILITY LEVEL: Gymmers who can stand and use a wheelie walker with moderate to high ability most of the day.

 

MOBILITY LEVEL:

  • You can get on and off the floor, bed, or therapy table without assistance.
  • You require a wheelie walker to work, exercise, and perform activities of daily living
  • You want to improve strength, mobility, balance, and endurance when using a wheelie walker to exercise.
  • You experience MS symptoms that fluctuate day to day

 Description of Workshop:

Exercising using the assistance of a wheelie walker (rollator) is one of the MOST IMPORTANT MOVEMENT SKILLS in The MS Gym. Assisted exercise helps you and your brain feel safer, move with less strain, and produce better results. 

 In this INTERACTIVE workshop (you will be moving 👍👍), you will learn, practice, and go home with short and simple KEY movement drills designed to help you exercise better using your wheelie walker so you can reduce your symptoms quicker.  

The goal is to help you gain confidence and mastery of assisted exercise so you can unlock a whole new level of exercises and daily activities that will give you more relief and freedom in life. 

Together, we will be learning and practicing: 

  • Eye, balance, and breathing drills SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR WALKING 
  • Improving individual muscles needed for a STRONG CORE & BETTER BALANCE
  • Improving HIP FLEXION
  • Increasing GLUTE & LEG STRENGTH, endurance, and mobility
  • Correcting faulty GAIT PATTERNS

Workshop #3

 KINETIC CHAIN STRENGTHENING: 

Dates and Times:

Session 1: Friday 6/30, 12-2 pm EST

Session 2: Friday 7/7,  3 - 5 pm EST

**This is a TWO DAY/ TWO PART Workshop (4 Hours Total) 

 

MOBILITY LEVEL REQUIREMENT:  You can walk unassisted for a minimum of 2-3 minutes, are able to walk / jog for a mile straight or more, or fall anywhere in between these two levels.

Mobility Level

  • You work, exercise, and perform activities of daily living standing upright with minimal assistance (usually on "bad days").
  • You want to improve strength, mobility, and fatigue when using walking aids or moving unassisted.
  • You experience MS symptoms that fluctuate based on stress, fatigue, or activity levels.

Description of Workshop

If you are a high-mobility Gymmer who can move unassisted and wants more strength, balance, and less fatigue, you must improve the function of your KINETIC CHAINS.

These chains are groups of muscle, fascia, bones, joints, and nerves that work together to create movement. Training these chains will improve the way you walk, exercise, and move throughout your day.

In this INTERACTIVE (get ready to move 😎😎)workshop, we will dive into understanding, learning, and practicing the MOST CUTTING-EDGE Movement Neurology training.

This type of training is being used on the world’s highest-level athletes. I am the only practitioner who has taken these performance training methods in order to help my MS Gymmers.
